Dear valued guest,
On behalf of all our people in Atrium Hotels, we are pleased to inform you that the beautiful island of Rhodes, the island of God Sun and Colossus, hasn’t had any serious COVID-19 cases. Due to the effectiveness of our Government's and society’s actions, as well as privileged weather and climate conditions, we are glad that Greece and especially Rhodes still remain safe destinations for travel.
In Atrium Hotels our ultimate ambition has always been creating memorable experiences for our guests. But in these unprecedented and difficult times we live in, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues is our number one priority. We can honestly say that we have never experienced an event with such a drastic impact on how we live and work as the COVID-19 pandemic. Our thoughts are with the people affected and everyone working around the clock to help those most in need. Now more than ever, we must do the right things and be prepared to take steps beyond what we are typically required.
As governments around the world are implementing measures to contain this public health crisis, we have been taking strict precautions to protect our colleagues and their families, while securing a high-quality service to our guests. Following the legislation by the Greek Government on to postpone all seasonal hotel openings to June 1st, we are carefully taking all the necessary measures, following our strong commitment to responsible and safe travel. Additionally, according to the Government’s decree on 13/4/20 and following the European Council’s guidance, a Voucher can be provided to guests whose reservation has been cancelled, equal to the value of their deposit, and valid for a period of 18 months. During these 18 months the Voucher can be redeemed for a hotel stay. Below you will find useful information, especially if you have already booked with us or planning your next trip to Rhodes, Greece.
Our Flexible Travel Policy
Our Commitment to Health and Safety
We are following closely the latest global developments of the pandemic, standards and protocols related to COVID-19 issued by the World Health Organization, the Government of Greece, the Ministry of Health, as well as local health agencies and public health officials. Consequently, we are heightening our already stringent practices around food handling, sanitization, disinfection and cleaning. More specifically:
Additionally, we encourage you to learn more about what you can do to travel more safely. The World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provide useful recommendations to reduce exposure to a range of illnesses, including hand and respiratory hygiene as well as safe food practices.
Our Commitment to the Community and Environment
During these hard times, in Atrium Hotels we aspire to be an example of social responsibility and altruism not only when it comes to our guests and employees, but also to our community. For this reason, we have donated a meaningful amount to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) medical equipment to support our fight against COVID-19. Additionally, we are especially caring to the people who work with us, providing our support in many tangible ways, but also to the people who are suffering the most in our local communities.
Furthermore, when it comes to providing eco-conscious and sustainable care for our planet, we strive to be a role model orgnization in Rhodes. Our lifelong commitment to sustainable practices has led to numerous awards and certifications over the years, such as the Green Key, Blue Flag, TUI Environmental Champions, TUI Holly & TUI Top Quality Awards, Travelife, TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice & Certificate of Excellence, HolidayCheck Gold Award and others. Some of our most common practices include sustainable hotel operations via energy conservation, water management, waste water management, recycling and waste reduction, minimal use of single-use plastic items, supporting local products and suppliers as well as sustainability training and seminars to our staff and local professionals. Following the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to the rigorous health and safety actions implemented, we believe there will be an even greater chance to enhance our eco-friendly and sustainable practices e.g. food preparation and service. For this reason, we are currently focusing all our time and resources into an extensive Health, Safety and Sustainability Strategy plan for 2020-21 in order to ensure the safety of our guests and staff, but also to address our sensitivity for our local environment and community, both ingrained in our Atrium Hotels culture and values.
Everyone at Atrium Hotels would like to wish you and your loved ones good health and strength in the days and weeks ahead. After these extremely challenging times, we hope a brighter future will arrive for all of us. We can’t wait till this is all over, so we can share together our love for travel and give you a warm welcome to our hotels under the Summer Sun of Rhodes. Until then, we wholeheartedly hope that you stay safe and healthy.
Our warmest regards,
The Atrium Hotels Family
